The chedi of Wat Sa Si, Sukhothai, Thailand

The original motive behind the whole tookish web space (tookish.org, tookish.net, and tookish.com) is communication: it exists principally to provide us with an efficient medium by which to relate the stories of our various experiences in Asia, Africa, and Europe to our friends and family at home in Canada. Previously, we often found ourselves relating the same story several different times in several different e-mails to several different people. From now on, we will be posting these stories here at tookish.org, and simply e-mailing out links. This will save us a lot of time, not to mention improving the stories by placing them in a more attractive setting and allowing us to include photographs.

The Koutoubia, Marrakech, Morocco

We'll be including all upcoming experiences here; at the same time, we're working on including all of our travel experiences from the time we left Canada in 1998. The text will take you up to July 2000, but we still need to do a lot of work to get all the pictures in. We're hoping to get the rest of our trip through Southeast Asia up soon.

If you wish, you can browse the entire photo album. Be forewarned, though, that there are well over a hundred photos there; various parts of the photo album are available in more manageable form from the individual story pages below.

Mausolea in La Cimetière du Père Lachaise, Paris, France

Please read, enjoy, and let us know what you think; We're particularly interested in any problems that you come across (e.g., links not working, images not showing up, bad grammar, whatever).

Many of the stories below are about Thailand, and you might want to start with the general introduction on our About Thailand page.

Here's what we've got so far in terms of content:
